Homicide at 3600 Greenville Avenue

On April 16, 2022, Dallas Police arrested 28-year-old Aries Jones and 21-year-old Tivione English, of Baton Rouge, LA, in connection to the homicide on Greenville Avenue.

On Friday, March 18, 2022, at approximately 2:01 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 3600 block of Greenville Avenue. Cameron Ray, a 20-year-old male, was shot and later died from his injuries.

The preliminary investigation determined two groups, one including Ray, and another including the suspects, were near the intersection of Greenville and Martel Avenue when a fight broke out between the two groups. The fight lasted approximately two minutes and when it broke up, the group that included the suspects got into a black SUV parked at the curb. As Ray and his friends were walking east on Martel Avenue, the black SUV drove by with people inside shooting at the group. Ray was shot and later died.

Further investigation by detectives identified Jones and English as the shooters. Jones and English turned themselves into Dallas Police and were taken to the Dallas County Jail.

On Friday, March 18, 2022, at approximately 2:01 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 3600 block of Greenville Avenue. Upon arrival, the officers found the victim, Cameron Ray, a 20-year-old black male, shot at the location. The victim was transported to an area hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue. A Non-Fatal Shoot Team Detective responded and began an investigation for an aggravated assault. The victim later died from his injuries, and the case was reassigned to the Homicide Unit. The investigation is ongoing, and the motive is unknown at this time.
