Dallas Police Investigate Shooting Following Burglary in Progress Call

On Sunday, April 17, 2022, at approximately 9:41 pm, Dallas Police responded to a call for a burglary in progress in the 2500 block of Inadale Ave.

At the scene, officers spoke to residents who said a man was lying face down, outside, suffering from a shotgun wound. Dallas Fire and Rescue transported the man, 33-year-old Roman Valle, to an area hospital where he died.

The preliminary investigation determined the man had thrown a large rock through the window of a house and threatened the people inside. Believing the man was going to come into the home and harm those inside, a resident shot through closed blinds, hitting the suspect.

No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is continuing.
