Homicide at 2700 Jefferson Blvd

On May 9, 2022, at approximately 12:04 am, Dallas Police Officers responded to a shooting call at 2727 W. Jefferson Boulevard.  Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, Eric Montez, a 25-year-old male, lying in the parking lot of the apartment complex suffering from a gunshot wound.  Dallas Fire and Rescue went out to the location and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The victim and witness were approached in the parking lot by a Black male suspect wearing dark pants, a dark long-sleeve shirt, and white tennis shoes.  The suspect demanded money from them.  The witness nor the victim had money on them.  The suspect then shot the victim, took his cell phone, and ran southbound from the location.
