Kevin Sheffield, a 20-year-old male, had been arrested for this homicide.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 5:09 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a health and welfare call in the 6700 block of Eastridge Drive. Upon arrival, they found the victim 65-year-old Joseph Syas, lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the face. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased. The motive and circumstances surrounding this murder are under investigation.
