Update: June 17, 2022
On June 16, 2022, Dallas Homicide arrested a 15-year-old for Murder and Unlawful Carrying Weapons in connection to the June 4 homicide at 4900 Alton Ave. The teen was arrested by members of the Dallas Police Gang Unit. Police also seized four weapons, one on the suspect, three at the arrest location. The preliminary investigation determined the teen was part of the group that met the victim at the park the night of the homicide. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Detectives are looking to determine who else was in the vehicle with the suspect the night of the homicide.

On Saturday, June 4, 2022, at approximately 12:57 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call at 4900 Alton Ave, near the Old East Dallas Work Yard Park. The juvenile victim, a 14-year-old male, was shot in the head. A 19-year-old male was also found, shot in the hand. Both were transported to a local hospital where the juvenile victim died. The 19-year-old is in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
