On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at approximately 7:29 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 2400 block of Rugged Drive East.  When officers arrived they found an unknown Latin male shot several times inside a parked car. Dallas Fire and Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital where he died.

The preliminary investigation determined two suspects ran from the car after multiple shots were fired. The suspects, Jennifer Posado-Colato, 19, and Joe Torres, 18, were found at a home nearby.

The investigation determined Torres shot and killed the victim, and Posado-Colato took Torres’ weapon and left it at the home where they were found.

Torres had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Posado-Colato complained of medical issues and was also transported.

The identity of the victim will be determined by the Medical Examiners office.

Torres was charged with Murder, and Posado-Colato is charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence.

The investigation is ongoing.
