The victim has been identified as Clayton Hartfield Jr. Further investigation determined, 23-year-old Justin Blocker shot the victim. Blocker has been charged with murder. This remains an ongoing investigation.

On January 3, 2023, at approximately 6:02 PM, officers responded to a shooting in the 2600 block of Walnut Hill Lane. The preliminary investigation determined, that the male victim and male suspect were involved in a fight that escalated when the suspect shot the victim. The victim died from his injuries. This remains in an ongoing investigation that will be documented under case number 001665–2023.
