Officer of the Month-Senior Corporal Erin Kaschalk

On January 19, 2023, Senior Corporal Erin Kaschalk #8586, was named January 2023 Officer of the Month by the Dallas Community Police Awards Committee. The ceremony was held during a luncheon at the Hilton Richardson Hotel.

 

Senior Corporal Kaschalk is an 18-year veteran of the Dallas Police Department who is currently assigned as a detective in the Auto Theft Taskforce, also known as The Junkyard Dogs.  Her work ethic and tireless efforts have distinguished her as one of the best detectives in the unit.  The national clearance rate for Auto Theft investigations is 7%.  At the time of her nomination, she had an excellent clearance rate of 28.8% which is more than 4 times the national average for these types of investigations.

 

In March of 2022, Senior Corporal Kaschalk displayed her tenacity and outstanding investigative skills by dismantling a criminal enterprise that was defrauding the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.  Her investigation spanned over a six-month period and resulted in the arrests of three people who were charged with Engaging in Organized Crime for participating in the concealment of over $200,000 worth of stolen vehicles.
