Update:

Dallas Police Officer Christopher Jackson, 58, passed away on July 6, 2023.
He served with the Dallas Police Department for 31 years, and was assigned to Southwest Patrol.

On July 6, 2023, at around 4:00 pm, Dallas Police responded to an assist officer with an ambulance call. Dallas Police received a 911 call that an off-duty Dallas Police Officer had collapsed near a parking lot after returning home from a shift.

The preliminary investigation determined an apartment employee and officers performed CPR while waiting for Dallas Fire Rescue to respond.

DFR transported the man to a local hospital where he died.

The officer was assigned to Southwest Patrol and has been with DPD for 31 years.
