For media covering Wednesday’s service, a media staging area has been identified outside of Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. The area marked by the blue box will provide a view of the procession arriving at the Funeral home.

WFAA will serve as a pool camera inside the service, in addition to the livestream. Dallas Morning News will serve as the still pool photographer. Televisions will also be outside for media and guests to view the service.

The DPD Media Relations Unit will post still photos following the service on our blog for use.

The funeral service for former Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 10:00 am at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas.

Seating inside the funeral home will be limited, but the service will be livestreamed at https://vimeo.com/event/3570057

In addition, a procession will also precede the service. For those who would like to view the procession, it will start on Wolf Street to McKinnon Street, McKinnon to the Dallas North Tollway, the Dallas North Tollway to Northwest Highway, to the funeral home located at 7405 Northwest Highway.
