Four Dallas Police officers injured in 3100 block of Community Drive

Update:

On September 14, 2023, at around 3:10 am, Dallas Police responded to the 3100 block of Community Drive for a shooting call.

The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived they found a man shot, and the victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The suspect, Angel Morales, 22, was inside the home and refused to come out for officers. Morales tried to escape from a window but was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault.

During the shooting investigation, officers were set up on a perimeter around the scene.

An uninvolved driver, Christopher Ramirez, 45 , drove through the scene perimeter, then around DFR equipment and hit a marked patrol vehicle.

The crash caused an officer sitting in the front of the patrol vehicle to be thrown from the vehicle, and then the patrol vehicle then hit three other officers standing nearby.

The officers were taken to a local hospital in stable condition and released.

Ramirez stayed at the scene and has been charged with four counts of Aggravated Assault and four counts of Passing an Authorized Emergency Vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing. At this time, there is no indication the driver was impaired at the time of the crash.

The suspect was taken into custody on the scene.

 

During the investigation into the shooting, an uninvolved driver hit a marked squad car with one officer inside, and the patrol vehicle then hit three officers.

 

The officers were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

 

The driver stayed at the scene.

 

The investigation is ongoing.
