On October 3, 2023, 28-year-old Kayla Griffin was located and arrested in Bloomfield, New Mexico. Griffin will be charged with Capital Murder. 

She is currently being held in New Mexico.

On September 30, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Medalist Drive.  The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived they found a woman shot, who had walked from the scene to get help. Officers then went to the shooting scene, where they found a man who had been tied up, yelling for help. They also located another victim, Deleon Williams, 30, with his hands tied and shot. Williams died at the scene.

The female victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to live. The second male victim was not injured.  

There is no suspect in custody.
