On October 1, 2023, at about 3:45 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at 11000 block of Harry Hines Blvd.
The preliminary investigation determined a uniformed, commissioned security guard, 26-year-old David Thomas, was escorting a 32-year-old Marqurius Lambert from the property when Lambert went to his car and put a firearm into his waistband.
Lambert then pulled out the firearm and he and Thomas started to fight over the weapon.
During the struggle, Thomas fired his weapon, hitting the suspect.
Lambert tried to leave the scene in his car, but crashed, then ran from the scene.
Around 4:45 am, Lambert went to a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the arm. Lambert was treated, then arrested and charged with Assault on a Security Guard.
He was taken to the Dallas County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
