Update: October 3, 2023:

On September 15, 2023, at about 9:00 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 8400 block of Old Hickory Trail.

The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found Waterrion Javon-Turcel Evans, 20, shot inside of a vehicle.  He died at the scene.

The investigation determined the victim and suspect arrived together in the pictured vehicle. Detectives believe the suspect, who was  a passenger, shot the victim as he sat in the driver’s seat and then got out and tried to pull the victim from the car before running from the scene.  

The investigation is ongoing and documented on case number 166623-2023.

On September 15, 2023, at about 9:00 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 8400 block of Old Hickory Trail.  The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found a man shot inside of a vehicle.  The man died from his injuries at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and documented on case number 166623-2023.

The man’s identity is not being released pending family notifications.
