On October 12, 2023, at about 12:30 p.m., the Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 1000 block of Cheyenne Road.

The preliminary investigation determined that 21-year-old Desmond Valentine was shot at the location by the suspect, 18-year old Jeremy Walker. Desmond was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.  Walker was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault – Deadly Weapon. 

On Monday, October 16, 2023, Desmond died from his injuries, and the case was reassigned to the Homicide Unit. The charge against Walker has been upgraded to Murder.
