On October 16, 2023, at about 4:50 PM, Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 9700 block of Forest Lane. The preliminary investigation shows when officers arrived, they found Chiquavion Ross, 23, shot inside an apartment.  He was taken to a local hospital where he died.

The investigation is ongoing and documented under case number 185630-2023.
