On October 25, 2023, at about 7:20 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 1600 block of Murdock Road.

The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found a woman, 35-year-old Dishaye Stevenson, shot on the side of the road. Stevenson died at the scene.

Further investigation identified the suspect as 39-year-old Michael Smith. Smith was located by officers, arrested and charged with Murder. He was taken to the Dallas County Jail.
