Community Awareness Bulletin – Man Charged with Sex Crime

On Friday, December 10, 2021, the Dallas Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit, with the assistance of the U. S. Marshal Violent Criminal Task Force, arrested Edouard Iarov, 69-year-old gymnastics coach and owner of Elite Gymnastics, and charged him with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child, a First Degree Felony.

The Dallas Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit asks for the public’s assistance in helping to identify any other possible victims associated with this arrest. Keeping Dallas Safe: DPD Fugitive Unit Arrests Suspect for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child

On March 13, 2018, the Dallas Police Fugitive Unit apprehended a suspect wanted for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child in the North Central area of Dallas. The suspect used social media to lure and sexually assault a juvenile girl.  The juvenile was reported as a runaway and was located after the offense. Fugitive Unit officers located the suspect, Xavier Jones B/M/20, and took him into custody without incident. This offense is documented on case number 049682-2018.

On July 29, 2016, the Dallas Police Department’s Child Exploitation Squad arrested Timothy Woolman, 25 year old White male, for Sexual Assault of a Child, F/2, Online Solicitation of a Minor, F/2, and Possession/Promotion of Child Pornography, F/3.  The cases are reported on Case Number 177877-2016.     

The arrest stemmed from an investigation that was initiated after detectives received an outcry from a 15 year old female victim.  The Arrestee met the victim on a teen chat line where he then lured the victim to meet him and then sexually assaulted her.  

Arrestee Woolman was placed in the Dallas County Jail for Sexual Assault of a Child, F/2, Online Solicitation of a Minor, F/2, and Possession/Promotion of Child Pornography, F/3 with a total of $300,000 bond on the three charges.

Community Awareness Bulletin: Arrest Made

On April 27, 2016, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Dallas Police Department arrested Daniel Acevedo, H/M 23, for (2) counts of Trafficking in Persons/Child, F/1, (2) counts of Compelling Prostitution/Child, F/1, (1) count of Sexual Assault/Child, F/2, with $100,000 bond on each charge/count for a total of $500,000 bond on all (5) charges.  All offenses are reported on Case Number 69286-2016.

Comm Awareness

The arrest stemmed from an investigation where a 17-year-old female runaway was located by the High Risk Victims and Trafficking Unit (HRVU) in an escort ad on the website Backpage.com.  Detectives in the High Risk Victims and Vice Units were able to locate and rescue the victim.  Evidence was developed through the investigation which demonstrated Arrestee Acevedo trafficked and compelled the victim to engage in prostitution from December 1, 2015, until March 22, 2016.

Arrestee Acevedo has an extensive criminal history including drug, assault, and burglary offenses with approximately 14 arrests reported in Dallas County.

Community Awareness Bulletin: Arrest of Suspect in Attempt Unlawful Restraint

On April 14, 2016, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Dallas Police Department arrested Paul McDonnold, a white, male, 70 years of age, for 2 counts of Attempt Unlawful Restraint, a Class A misdemeanor.  Mr.  McDonnold attempted to lure two (2) 11 year old females into his vehicle while they were walking home from school in the 2200 block of Gross Road. This offense is reported on Case Number 088624-2016. 

Mr.  McDonnold was placed in the Dallas County Jail for 2 counts of Attempt Unlawful Restraint, M/A, with a $2,500.00 bond on each charge.

COMMUNITY AWARENESS BULLETIN – INDECENCY WITH A CHILD/CONTACT

On February 14, 2016, at approximately 5:00 p.m., two female children, 8 and 10 years of age, were playing in the laundry room at the Linda Vista Apartments, 13450 Maham Road.  The girls were approached by an unknown Latin male. The children told their parents that the suspect touched both of them in a sexual manner, committing the offense of Indecency with a Child F/3. The parents tried to locate the suspect, but were unsuccessful.  The parents did not contact Dallas Police at that time because they could not locate the suspect.

On February 20, 2016, the victims observed a person (posted photo) they believe to be the suspect.  The children told one of the parents, who was able to take a picture of this subject. Dallas Police were contacted and the offense report was made.  The suspect was not at the location upon officers’ arrival.

The suspect is described as a Latin male, between 30 and 40 years of age, 5’07, 170 lbs, dark hair, and wearing a blue baseball cap. This offense is documented on case number 041530-2016.

Update December 17, 2015, at  3:10 pm

On December 17, 2015, detectives conducted a follow-up interview with the victim after additional information was provided by another agency. The victim has recanted her statement and detectives have determined that the incident did not take place as reported.   The investigation is continuing, but there is no community risk in terms of the person, place or behavior as previously described. We appreciate the information provided by the community and assisting law enforcement agencies.

UPDATE: December 16, 2015 at 4:48 pm

This offense occurred on Thursday, December 10th and was reported Friday, December 11th when the victim returned to school. During an investigation of this nature, detectives are victim centered and the child victim’s needs dictate investigative actions. At the same time, detectives work diligently to verify facts and develop intelligence. We do our best to balance the needs of the victim with the investigative needs as well as community safety concerns. A community awareness bulletin was released following an in depth interview of the victim on Tuesday, December 15th.

This is an on-going investigation and detectives are working with Southwest Patrol Division resources to gather any additional information that may lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.

CHILD ABDUCTION INDECENCY WITH A CHILD/ CONTACT 

On December 10, 2015, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a 14 year old, Latin female victim, was on her way home from school and got off the school bus at 500 8th Street.  After getting off the bus the victim was approached by an unknown Black male wearing a ski mask who grabbed her by the arm and forced her to walk 3 blocks to Lake Cliff Park, located at 1200 N. Zang Blvd.  The suspect sexually abused the victim in the park.  The suspect fled the location when he heard people approaching. 

The suspect is described a Black male, between the ages of 18 – 21 , 6 feet tall and weighs 250 pounds, wearing black sweat pants, black hoodie, black ski mask.  The victim also stated that the suspect had blue eyes, possible wearing colored contact lenses.  

This offense is reported on Case Number 287569-2015.

Arrest Made – Indecency With A Child /Attempt Child Abduction

1SuspectOn December 14, 2015, at about 12:00 pm, the Dallas Police Department arrested Tyler Anthony Gale, Black male 7-16-94, in connection to the Indecency with a Child offenses and the Attempt Child Abduction offense for which we had issued a bulletin and conducted a press conference this past Friday, December 11, 2015.

After the information was released to the public, we were contacted by the Desoto Police Department. The Desoto Police Department had arrested Gale for Disorderly Conduct on October 7, 2015, for exposing himself in a park to adult victims. Gale was later released.

Dallas detectives went to Arrestee Gale’s workplace today and arrested him for 3 warrants for the Desoto offenses. He was questioned by detectives of our Child Exploitation Unit. He has admitted committing the three offenses that we reported and told our detectives about additional offenses that he had committed.  Several victims were able to positively identify Mr. Gale as the suspect. Arrestee Gale is in Lew Sterrett Jail and detectives are filing the following 5 charges against him:

Charge 2: Indecency with a Child/Exposure F/3, 3500 Blue Ridge Blvd, 10/14/15

Charge 3: Indecency with a Child/Exposure F/3, 1000 Hutchins Road, 12/3/15

Charge 4: Indecency with a Child/Exposure F/3, 3020 Bickers St, 7/12/15

ARREST: SEXUAL ASSAULT AND CHILD TRAFFICKING OF PERSONS

On November 15, 2015, at approximately 10:30 pm, the Dallas Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Squad (ICAC), with the assistance of the Fort Worth Police Department, arrested Cuauhtemoc Munoz, a Latin male (DOB 6/14/72), for Sexual Assault of a Child, F/2, and Trafficking of Persons, F/1. Jason Strickland, a White male (DOB 12/20/82), was also arrested in Colorado on Saturday evening, 11/14/15,  on a warrant for Trafficking of Persons, F/1, in connection with this investigation.

These arrests resulted from an online investigation which involved a 16 year old female victim.  Both arrestees met the victim on social media.  Arrestee Munoz, pretending to be a 17 year old male, agreed to help the victim run away from home and get her a bus ticket to Alabama to meet arrestee Strickland. Before taking the victim to the bus station, arrestee Munoz took the victim to a hotel in Dallas where he sexually assaulted her.  The victim was then taken to the bus station where arrestee Munoz purchased a ticket for her to go to Alabama.  The victim was recovered in Alabama by her parents and was brought back to Texas. 

Arrestee Munoz was transported to Lew Sterrett Jail and is charged with Sexual Assault of a Child, F/2, $100,000 bond and Trafficking of Persons, F/1, $100,000 bond.  Arrestee Strickland is currently being held in Larimer County, Colorado, on a Trafficking of Persons warrant, F/1, $100,000 bond.

COMMUNITY AWARENESS BULLETIN INDECENCY WITH A CHILD/EXPOSURE

On October 13, 2015, at approximately 7:30 am, a 9 and 10 year old girl, was walking to school in the 6300 block of Bellbrook.  As the girls were walking, a man ran up behind them, nude, and stated “Come here….wait for me.”  The girls ran to their school at RC Burleson Elementary, in the 6300 block of Elam Road.  While running from the suspect the girls heard him say, “That’s ok; I’ll get another little girl after school.” 

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age. Light skinned, with a large afro, a hairy chest, 5’10”, and 150 pounds.

This offense was reported on Case Number 238389-2015.
