Double Homicide on Palo Alto Drive

UPDATE 12/11/18 at 1:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Lexington Malik Wright, a 18-year old Black male, surrendered to Homicide detectives at the Dallas Police Jack Evans Headquarters.  During the interview with detectives, he admitted to shooting the following three victims:  Deroyal Talley, a 19-year old Black male, Demareyea Bazile, a 17-year old Black male, and a juvenile victim.  Lexington Malik Wright was transported to the Dallas County Lew Sterrett Jail and has been charged with Capital Murder, a Capital Felony and Aggravated Assault, a felony one.  Please see the attached PCA warrants.

During the investigation of this offense, the Dallas Police Homicide Unit has identified Lexington Malik Wright, an 18-year-old Black male, as the suspect who killed two unidentified victims and shot and injured another in the 2700 block of Palo Alto Drive on December 7, 2018.  Lexington Malik is currently being sought for an active Capital Murder warrant, a Capital Felony.

On December 7, 2018, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Dallas police officers responded to a call regarding a shooting that occurred in the 2700 block of Palo Alto Drive. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 16-year-old Black male and two other unidentified Black males, all of whom been shot inside of a vehicle. Dallas Fire and Rescue transported all three victims to local hospitals, where the two unidentified males later died from their injuries. Witnesses reported that a Black male, wearing a black hoodie and dark-colored pants, shot into the vehicle and then fled on foot eastbound towards Santa Rosa Drive.

On November 15, 2018, at  9:20 p.m., Anthony Rider, a 33-year-old black male, was arrested by officers of the Dallas Police Department and Mesquite Police Department at 423 Running Brook Lane in Mesquite, Texas for the murder of Jimar Nichols on November 11, 2018. Anthony Rider was transported to Dallas Police Headquarters, where he was interviewed by a homicide detective and admitted to killing Jimar Nichols. He was subsequently transported to Lew Sterrett Jail and has been charged with murder, a first-degree felony. His bond will be set by a Dallas County magistrate.

The Dallas Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a homicide that occurred on Lewiston Avenue.  On November 11, 2018, at approximately 5:42 p.m., the victim, Jimar Demarkus Nichols, Black male 26-years-old, was shot in the 2000 Lewiston Avenue.  He was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.  Anyone with information regarding this offense is encouraged to contact Homicide Detective Frank Serra at 214-671-4320 or frank.serra@dallascityhall.com.  Please refer to Case Number 245003-2018.

Arrests Made in Murder Investigation on Webb Chapel Ext.

On Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at approximately 11:37 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at 3333 Webb Chapel Extension where the victim, Eduardo Orellana, a 43-year-old Latin male, was passed out and bleeding outside next to his apartment.  The victim had a gunshot wound and was transported to Parkland Hospital where he died of his injuries.  Homicide detectives responded to the scene and an area hospital.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested for the murder of Eduardo Orellana:

Corey Smith, a 20-year-old black male

Michael McCoy, a 20-year-old black male

Dominique Mangum, a 21-year-old black male

Edward Roper, a 20 year-old black male

All four have been charged with Capital Murder, a Capital Felony. The bail was set by a Dallas County Magistrate as $500,000 for Dominique Mangum and Edward Roper and $200,000 for Corey Smith and Michael McCoy.

Homicide on Walnut Street

Updated on October 22, 2018 at 8:20 a.m.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that a Black male juvenile suspect, 16-years-old was responsible for the death of Arthur Holloway at 10110 Walnut Street.  On October 22, 2018, the juvenile turned himself in to Dallas Police Detectives at Jack Evans Headquarters.  He was processed and taken to the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center, charged with murder.   

On Sunday, October 14, 2018, at approximately 1:46 am, Dallas police responded to a shooting call at the Briarwick Apartments located at 10110 Walnut Street. Upon arrival, the victim, Arthur Holloway, a 17-year old Black male, was found in the apartment with a single gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the victim to an area hospital. Witnesses reported that there was a party at the apartment and several individuals fled the before the arrival of police. At approximately 6:58 a.m., the victim was pronounced deceased.

On October 20, 2018, at approximately 6:29 p.m., Dallas police responded to 310 N. Cockrell Hill Road regarding a shooting. The victim, Jesse Valero, a Latin male 25-years-old, was found outside on the ground suffering from homicidal violence. He was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Homicide on Skillman Street

On October 16, 2018, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Dallas police officers responded to a call regarding a major accident where a pedestrian/victim was struck by a vehicle at 8489 Skillman Street.  The 52 year old White male victim, Connally Klein, was intentionally pushed into the roadway from the median and struck by on-coming traffic.  The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. 

The suspect, Quantara Melton, a Black female 29-years-old, was located at a nearby business and arrested on unrelated warrants.  She was transported to Dallas Police Headquarters where she was read her Miranda rights before being interviewed.  Suspect Melton waived her rights and agreed to speak with detectives.  As a result of the investigation, Suspect Melton has been charged with her unrelated warrants and Murder.  She was transported and booked into the Dallas County Jail. 

 

Help Needed in Homicide Case on Guthrie St.

On Friday, October 12, 2018, at approximately 10:24 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 211 Guthrie Street. Upon arrival, the victim, Hector Eric Gaona, a 32-year-old Latin male, was found lying next to his vehicle. Witnesses observed a silver or grey vehicle, occupied by an unknown Latin male, stopped in the middle of the street and began shooting at the direction of the victim. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Homicide Investigation at C. F. Hawn Freeway

On October 8, 2018, at 12:30 p.m., Donald Taylor was arrested by Dallas Police at the Town East Mall, located at 2063 Town East Mall in Mesquite, for the murder of Corey Sanders and Jessica Henderson. Donald Taylor was transported to Dallas Police Headquarters, where he declined to speak with investigators. Donald Taylor was taken to Lew Sterrett and has been charged with capital murder, a capital felony.

Through the course of the investigation and the help of the public, detectives were able to determine that Donald Ray Taylor, a Black male 29-years-old is responsible for the deaths of Jessica Henderson and Corey Sanders.   Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Donald Taylor is encouraged to contact 911.

On Monday, September 17, 2018, at approximately 6:02 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at the Food Mart Gas Station located at 9512 C. F. Hawn Freeway.  Upon arrival, officers found three (3) individuals shot in the parking lot.  A Black female was found to be deceased due to homicidal violence,  Corey Sander, a 39-year-old Black male was shot and transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries and a 32-year-old White male was also shot and transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The suspect fled the scene in a gold Honda CRV.

Ernesto Carrillo-Hernandez, the suspect in the murder of Martha Alva has been arrested near the border of Mexico.  There is no additional information to report at this time.

Through the course of the investigation, it has been determined that Ernesto Carrillo-Hernandez, a Latin male 32-years-old, is responsible for the death of Martha Alva.  On September 18, 2018, detectives obtained a murder warrant for Carrillo-Hernandez who remains at-large.   Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts are encouraged to contact their local police department, please reference Dallas police report #205720-2018.

On September 16, 2018, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Dallas Police responded to 2000 Walnut Hill Lane, regarding a dead body. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Martha Alva, a 35-year-old Latin female, deceased due to homicidal violence. The Dallas Police Department Homicide Unit responded to the location, along with the Dallas County Medical Examiner.

Homicide on Highland Hills Drive

On September 7, 2018, the Dallas Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Jeremy Lamont Warren, a 19-year-old Black male, for the murder of Nequacia Jacobs that occurred at 5710 Highland Hills Drive on February 24, 2018. Jeremy Warren was already in the custody of the Dallas County Sheriff for unrelated charges and his bail has been set at $150,000.

Detectives believe they have recovered the suspect vehicle involved in this offense. On February 24, 2018, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 5710 Highland Hills Drive.  The victim, Nequacia Jacobs, a Black female 18-years-old, was shot and transported to an area hospital where she died from her injuries.  A second juvenile victim was also shot and taken to an area hospital with none life-threatening injuries.  The suspect arrived in the pictured white Dodge Charger with tinted windows and white rear spoiler.  The vehicle is believed to be between a 2005 and 2010 model with stock black wheels.  The suspect is described as a black male wearing a dark color hoodie with a distinct logo on the back and writing on the left sleeve.
