Chief Brown Accepts Check From DEA

Today, Chief David O. Brown received a check from the Drug Enforcement Agency from a seizure that took place on March 29, 2013. On that date, South Central patrol officers responded to a call in the 800 block of Brook Valley Lane. Upon arrival, the officers observed a deceased person on the front porch of the residence. The officers made entry to the residence and secured the location. Patrol officers contacted Homicide, who responded to the location.

Homicide secured a search warrant for the residence. During the search of that location, the officers found narcotics and a substantial amount of U.S. Currency. Homicide detectives contacted the DEA Task Force. The DEA Task Force responded to the location and helped process the scene. The U.S. Currency was seized and processed federally for forfeiture.    This joint operation between Dallas DEA and The Dallas Police Department resulted in a $728,842.40 seizure for the City of Dallas.
