The 4th Annual Battle in Big D Boxing Tournament

Over the weekend, several of our Dallas Police Activities League (PAL) Boxers competed in the 4th Annual Battle in Big D Boxing Tournament at the Janie C. Turner Recreation Center in Dallas, Texas.  There were over 400 kids from all over the country to participate in this year’s event.  There was standing room only in the recreation center with over a 1000 attendees; supporting their family and friends.  Many of the PAL boxers were awarded trophies and title belts, but one of our fighters really showed off his skills.

Eleven year old Jayshawn Wallace, a Dallas native, stepped into the ring and defended his title.  The undefeated champ won his match by TKO (technical knockout).  This was Jayshawn’s 11th fight that he has participated in through the PALS program.  Jayshawn won his match with his number #1 fan, (Mom) right by his side.  His mother, Latoya Mosley, expressed how proud she is of her son and his accomplishments since joining the Dallas PALS boxing program.  Latoya stated that her son is more disciplined, respectable to his elders, and his grades have improved since he has been mentored by the officers of the PALS boxing program.  We are proud of you, Jayshawn, and congratulations on your win!
