Officer Involved Shooting in the 4000 block of N. Jim Miller Road

Updated on August 17, 2018 at 3:55 p.m., the two suspects involved in the shooting were a deceased Latin male, Hector Flores, 17-years-old, and a Latin male, Valdemar Esquivel, 17-years-old, charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. 

 

On August 17, 2018, at about  5:20 a.m., an Armed Encounter call was dispatched in the 4000 block of N. Jim Miller Road.  A plainclothes Deployment officer was nearby and responded to the location.  When the plainclothes officer came upon the suspects, there was an exchanged of gunfire between the officer and at least one of the suspects.  The officer received a gunshot wound to his leg and was transported to Baylor Hospital where he is in stable condition.  One of the suspects was shot and pronounced deceased at the scene.  The second suspect fled the location, but was subsequently located by patrol officers and taken into custody.  Both suspects were armed and their weapons were recovered.  This is an ongoing investigation and we will update you with additional information when appropriate.
