Press conference updating Homicide Investigation on Cedar Springs Road.

On Friday, October 4, 2019, at approximately 10:37 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at the ATERA apartments located at 4606 Cedar Springs Road.  Upon arrival, officers were flagged down by several witnesses directing them to the victim’s location.  The victim, Joshua Xavier Brown, a 28-year old black male, was found lying on the ground in the apartment parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.  Witnesses reported seeing a silver four-door sedan leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed.  The victim was positively identified by the Medical Examiner this morning and next of kin notification was made shortly thereafter.
