Arrest Made:  In the Homicide Investigation at 3410 Fordham Road

Suspect Embray Harrison Taylor has been arrested in Houston, Texas.

Additional Arrest Made:  In the Homicide Investigation at 3410 Fordham Road

During the course of this investigation, Homicide detectives determined that suspects Laquita Cota Steward, a 39-year old black female, and Embray Harrison Taylor, a 45-year old black male, participated in the Capital Murder of the victim, John Lewis Carter.

On Tuesday, September 15, 2020, suspect Stewart was arrested and taken to the Homicide Unit.  Homicide detectives interviewed her, and she was transported to the Dallas County Jail, where she was charged with Capital Murder.   Homicide detectives have upgraded the original murder charge of Suspect Deshawn Antoine Gray to Capital Murder.

Suspect Embray Harrison Taylor is still at-large, and the Dallas Police Department – Homicide Unit asks for the public’s assistance with any information that can lead to his apprehension.

On Thursday, September 10, 2020, 1:33 a.m., Dallas police responding to a shooting at the Bonita Gardens Apartments located at 3410 Fordham Road.  Upon arrival, officers found the victim, John Lewis Carter, lying on a couch with multiple gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced him dead. During the investigation, the Homicide Unit determined that suspect Deshawn Antoine Gray, a 36-year old black male, was responsible for killing the victim.  The suspect was hospitalized after the shootout with the victim, and once released, a Dallas County magistrate will set his bond.
