On October 12, 2023, Dallas Police arrested 33-year-old Christopher Plant and charged him with Murder.

On September 29, 2023, at approximately 10:45 p.m. officers responded to a shooting call in the 13500 block of Esperanza Rd. The preliminary investigation determined the unknown suspect and male victim were in an argument when the suspect shot the victim. DFR responded and the victim died from his injuries. This remains an ongoing investigation that will be documented under case number 175438-2023.
