On March 14, 2024, Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 400 block of Bluewood Drive. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found Timothy Gantt, 56, shot. Gantt was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

On March 18, 2024, Dallas Police were notified that Gantt died from his injuries. The case was transferred to the Homicide Unit and is being investigated as a homicide.

Further investigation identified Benjamin Edwards, 59, as the suspect. Edwards was already in the Dallas County Jail for another charge. He is charged with Murder.
