February is nationally known as Black History Month and the Dallas Police Department is recognizing an African-American trailblazer, Retired Executive Assistant Chief Donald A. Stafford, an extraordinary man who paved the way for many Blacks to rise through the ranks of the Department.  Chief Stafford was the 14^th African American officer hired with the Department and was the first Black officer to achieve the rank of Lieutenant and above. During the interview, Stafford speaks of his life experiences and career highlights, including his duty assignment during the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
