Officer Involved Shooting at 3300 Irving Boulevard

UPDATE June 29, 2015 @ 4:30 PM: 

The officer involved in the shooting incident at 3306 Irving Boulevard on June 26, 2015, is identified as Police Officer Leonard Anderson.  Officer Anderson is a B/M and he is currently assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division.  He has 7 years, 4 months service.

Fernando Garcia L/M/4-30-1993 and Jorge Enriquez L/M/12-3-1992 were arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery for their actions during the incident.  Garcia entered the store with a handgun and Enriquez waited in a nearby vehicle.  Garcia is being held on a $100,000 bond and Enriquez on $25,000.

jack-evansOn June 26, 2015, a Dallas Police Officer was working off-duty in full uniform at the title loan location at 3306 Irving Boulevard.  At approximately 5:40 p.m., a Hispanic male suspect entered the store brandishing a handgun.  Witnesses report the suspect then pointed the handgun at the officer.  The officer drew his firearm and discharged it at the suspect multiple times.  The suspect then fled the location in an awaiting vehicle with an accomplice.  Responding officers were able to locate the suspects in a nearby neighborhood and affected their arrest without further incident.  Two handguns were recovered.  One suspect was treated and released by Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedics for an injury of an undetermined origin.

Both suspects have been transported to Police Headquarters for questioning.  The involved officer nor the witnesses were injured.  The Special Investigations Unit is conducting the investigation.
