METRO Tracks Down Robber

On July 24, 2014, the Dallas Police Department’s METRO Unit apprehended 20-year-old Gerrell Holmes for two Aggravated Robbery warrants.  These robberies occurred on April 21, 2014, at Rochester Park located at 4400 CF Hawn Freeway when Holmes and one other suspect robbed an individual at gunpoint (Case Number 94368B).

The METRO unit researched Holmes’ whereabouts and found he recently bought a vehicle with temporary tags attached.  Officers canvassed the area in Southeast Dallas where Holmes is believed to hang out and began searching for his vehicle.  Undercover officers located the vehicle and conducted surveillance until they spotted him walking towards his vehicle. Uniformed officers coordinated with the undercover units and captured Holmes without incident.  Keep up the good work Metro!!!

Two Shot, One Dead, Help Us Catch the Killer

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in the homicide that occurred on July 9, 2014.  Victims Elena Shea and Christopher Whitley were at the Royal Inn Motel located at 2030 West Northwest Highway when an unknown suspect(s) shot both victims.  Elena Shea died as a result of her injuries and Christopher Whitley remains in critical condition.

Crimestoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment for this felony offense or any other felony crime.

Battle in Big D Boxing Tournament

Big D Battle

The Dallas Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) , Dallas Parks & Recreation, and Friends of Janie C. Turner Recreation Center will be hosting it’s 1st Annual Boxing Tournament.

The boxing tournament will be Saturday, June 21st at 2 pm and Sunday,  June 22nd at 1 pm. The event will be held at the Janie C. Turner Recreation Center located at 6424 Elam Road. Admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.

Critical Missing – Grover Lee Robinson

UPDATE: Grover Lee Robinson has been located.

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a critically missing person.  Today, on April 30, 2014, Grover Lee Robinson was last seen at his residence near 8400 Stonehurst Street. Mr. Robinson is believed to be driving his 2007 4-door charcoal gray Ford F-150 with the Texas license plate of 68D-RW4. Mr. Robinson is an Alzheimer’s patient. He is described as a Black male 73 years old 6’2”’ weighing 180 lbs., with black/gray hair and brown eyes. Mr. Robinson was last seen wearing a Navy Blue Dallas Cowboys sweatshirt, black jeans, brown shoes and still has the goatee as shown in the picture below. Felon with a Firearm Taken Off the Street

On April 3, 2014, a METRO Task Force uniformed officer spotted a vehicle suspected in an Aggravated Robbery. The vehicle description had just been issued to officers in an intelligence bulletin.

The officer called and waited for cover before performing High Risk traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. Officers detained the suspect and recovered a pistol and a shotgun from inside the vehicle. The vehicle also contained stolen property. The vehicle was driven by a L/M/21 suspect who was arrested and taken to Crime Against Persons/Robbery Unit where he confessed to knowing the weapons were inside his vehicle.

The arrestee is a felon and was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm which is a 3rd degree felony. The arrested person is also a suspect in multiple Aggravated Robberies and additional charges are forthcoming. The case number of this incident is 78704-B.

At this time, the name of the arrestee is not being released due to pending photo line-ups that need to be conducted.
